Ans. In this technology, patient's records like ECG, X-Rays, CT Scan, MRI, Sonography, Pathological reports and slides are digitized and transmitted across the network to other telemedicine centers, thereby cutting the distances and time.

Ans. Any patient or doctor, whose diagnosis is in doubt can consult doctors for a second opinion anywhere in the world and get the benefit of the doctor's expertise without having to travel across the globe.

Q4. Who gives the second opinion?
Ans. The opinion is obtained from doctors in India and abroad who are specialized in their respective fields.  

Q5. Can the patient have a one to one chat with the Doctor?
Ans. YES! The patient can have a videoconference with the doctor concerned. Such facilities ARE available with us.

Q6. Who will treat the patient here?
Ans. The patient's general practitioner or consultant who has requested the services will be treating the patient according to the advice obtained or with some modification.

Q7. How long does it take?
Ans. The second opinion's can be procured within 24 to 72 hours.

Q8. How much does it cost?
Ans. If you consider the amount of traveling abroad with consultation, lodging and boarding, the cost of Telemedicine services is negligible.

Q9. Is it confidential?
Ans. The patient's reports are kept strictly confidential and they are not divulged to anybody.

Q10. What happens if the patient loses the report?
Ans. The Telemedicine Center maintains a backup of all reports of the patient, so in case the patient misplaces his/her file, a duplicate copy of records can be given to the patient. Also, the patient can have a full record on digital media, facilitating him to carry the record very easily to any part of the world.

Q11. What if the patient is abroad and the record is urgently needed there?
Ans. The telemedicine center will facilitate the record to be launched on the internet and his/her would be password protected. So the record can be accessed by him/her anywhere and at anytime.
